MCP server

Let an AI assistant list links, check stats and create links for you, with a key you control.

Launching soon. Qodeveo is not open for signups yet. These docs describe the API and MCP server as they will work once your account is active. Keys are created in the Qodeveo app, on the API page of your workspace.

What it is

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use outside tools. Qodeveo's MCP server exposes the same link operations as the REST API, so an assistant that supports MCP can work with your links in plain language, for example “create a link for this page and give me its QR code.”

Connect

Server URLhttps://app.qodeveo.com/mcp
TransportRemote (Streamable HTTP)
AuthenticationAuthorization: Bearer shk_... header, using a key that is allowed for MCP

Create the key on the API page of your workspace and tick MCP server. Use a separate key from the one your scripts use, so you can revoke either one without breaking the other.

Claude Code

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http qodeveo https://app.qodeveo.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer shk_..."

Other clients

Add a remote MCP server with the URL above and an Authorization: Bearer header. The exact steps depend on the client, so check its MCP documentation.

  • Read-only keys only see the read tools. They can't create or change anything.
  • There is no delete tool. An assistant can't delete your links.
  • Creating links through MCP counts against your monthly allowance, the same as the app and the REST API.

Try asking

  • “How many links have I created this month?”
  • “Show me the clicks and QR scans for my spring menu link over the last 30 days.”
  • “Create short links for these five product pages and list the short URLs.”

Staying safe

  • Start with a read-only key and move to read & write only when you need it.
  • Review what the assistant is about to do before you approve write actions.
  • Keep the key secret. If it is exposed, revoke it on the API page.
